Some belated holiday greetings are in order:

.

.

.

First, to my Jewish readers, I hope that yesterday’s fasting, prayers and penitence in observance of Yom Kippur were all meaningful and spiritually fulfilling.

And second, to my Shia Muslim readers, I hope that yesterday’s bloodbath in honor of Ashura accomplished whatever spiritual result these things are supposed to accomplish.
